CarParts.com has been proud to be involved with Project American Heroes (PAH), a not-for-profit organization that rebuilds classic American muscle cars for auction (all net proceeds from the auction benefit The Armed Forces Foundation).
This year, the PAH team-an expert team of volunteer craftsmen-has rebuilt a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS. With the help of CarParts.com and other providers of quality parts, no effort or expense was spared in restoring this iconic American muscle car.
This fully restored 1969 Camaro debuted August 9th at the Super Chevy Show at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, Illinois. Much thanks goes to the endless energy and incredible effort of Bill Jilinek and his dedicated staff at Route 66 Motorsports, as well as to the many who generously provided the parts to make this happen. Armed Forces Foundation President, Patricia Driscoll, was on hand from Washington, D.C. as were several veterans from the local VA hospital. The car got much enthusiastic applause from the crowd on hand as the car cover was removed and Patricia and Bill drove off in the gorgeous Turn Key LS7 equipped '69 Camaro. It was a truly heart warming and inspirational afternoon. You can read all about the event as well as view pictures of the car on www.superchevy.com.
