To replace the headlight assembly on your Silverado 2 it couldnt’ be easier. You’ll need to open the hood, remove the grille assembly, disconnect the headlight assembly as well as carry out a few other steps. You can carry out this tutorial of 8 chapters in 35 minutes. Bring your 10 mm socket and your flat head screwdriver and let’s get started!

Remove the plastic cover
Using a Phillips screwdriver and a fork, remove the 8 holding rivets. Then remove the cover.
Remove the Grille assembly
Using a ratchet, an extender and an 10 mm socket, unscrew the 4 bolts holding the grille assembly in place.
Then unclip the four grille retaining tabs. You can use a screwdriver to help you.
You can now remove the grille assembly.
Remove the headlight housing
Using a ratchet, an extender and a 10 mm socket, unscrew the 2 headlight retaining upper bolts.
Then, from the wheel arch, shift the mudguard.
Do the same on the lower holding bolt.
Disconnect the headlight assembly
You can now carefully remove the headlight, making small lateral back and forward movements.
Then, disconnect the electrical connector by pressing the plastic tab.
Reconnect the headlight assembly
Take the new head light All the bulbs are supplied with it.
Reposition the headlight assembly and reconnect the head light power connector.
Put the headlight housing back
Put the light back in. The light is held in place by plastic studs encased directly in the car body.
Screw the three headlight retaining bolts back on. Put the mudguard back in place.
Put the Grille assembly back
Put the grille assembly back on and retighten the 4 bolts.
Put the plastic cover back
Put the radiator support cover back in place, and then the 8 rivets.
Operation complete.
