A redesigned version of the Hyundai Tucson<\/a> is set to arrive for the 2021 model year and it looks like the model is getting a style upgrade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spy photos of the next-generation compact SUV sporting a unique front grille design and more angular lines are going around the web, giving the public an idea of how the new Tucson will look like since it was first unveiled as the Vision T concept car last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aside from visual changes, the new Tucson is also expected to grow bigger than its predecessor, which is currently among the smaller models in its segment. The vehicle is also anticipated to share mechanical components with other recently redesigned models in the Hyundai lineup such as the Elantra and Sonata.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Experts are looking at the possibility of the Tucson being equipped with the same 2.5-liter inline-four engine that powers the Sonata, as well as an optional 1.6-liter inline-four and a hybrid. Also in consideration is an N-Line version that will join the Kona crossover, which is also in the works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The outgoing Hyundai Tucson was launched in 2015, proving how much the model needs a redesign in order to compete with other newcomers in the segment. Among its leading competitors are the Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, and Subaru Forester.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Asked about other information on the new Tucson, a Hyundai<\/a> representative told online publication Car and Driver to “stay tuned.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2021 Hyundai Tucson is set to debut in the next few months with sales scheduled by the end of the year. It is expected to fetch a starting price of around $25,000.
