Toyota<\/a> is recalling units of the 2019 and 2020 RAV4 and RAV4 hybrid over reports of a faulty front lower suspension arm. A total of 9,502 vehicles with build dates between September and October 2019 are affected by the recall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the automaker, there is a possibility for cracks to form on the surface of the steel. These cracks could spread when the vehicle is driven with aggressive acceleration and deceleration, causing the suspension arm to detach from the wheel assembly and increase the risk of a crash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Toyota has also issued a stop-sale order for the affected RAV4 models, which means no dealers are authorized to sell the vehicles on their lots until the suspension arms are replaced.

But to fix the problem, customers are advised to bring their vehicles to a dealership where the affected part will be replaced. Owners of the affected RAV4 models can expect to receive recall notifications beginning July 19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
