Back in October 2019, Chevrolet<\/a> introduced the ZR2 variant of the 2021 Colorado. This time around, the automaker finally revealed what the model will look like with its refreshed appearance for the coming model year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The standard version of the midsize pickup is getting a taller front clip grille, as previously seen in the ZR2. It will no longer have the traditional Chevy badge on the tailgate. Instead, the “Chevrolet” nameplate will be spelled out and stamped into it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Chevrolet Trucks Exterior Design Director Matt Noone, the decision was made following the design’s earlier success with the Silverado.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the updated grille, the new Colorado achieves a wider look and an improved air dam, which leads to better aerodynamics for the truck and an increased approach angle. Moreover, the change in the air dam’s design allows for its complete removal upon the driver’s preference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Considering the 2021 upgrade is only a light refresh, there will be no mechanical changes for the pickup truck. It will still be offered with a 2.5-liter inline-four, 3.6-liter V6, and a 2.8-liter turbodiesel engine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The interior also largely remains untouched, although the 8.0-inch touchscreen unit will now be standard equipment on the LT trim and other premium variants. There will be new wheel designs, two new appearance packages, as well as an optional one-inch lift kit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In terms of pricing, the new Colorado gets a little more expensive than its predecessors. For the 2021 model year, Chevrolet is no longer offering the base extended cab model. This makes the extended-cab Work truck model the cheapest Colorado in the lineup with a starting price of $26,395.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
