Mazda<\/a> is recalling more than 24,000 units of the 2020 CX-30 crossovers as well as Mazda3 sedans and hatchbacks over reports that the front caliper bolts in the vehicles may not have been tightened properly during assembly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A report released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration states that the front brake calipers of the said models may loosen and fall off. This may “reduce braking performance or interfere with wheel rotation.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If a car’s front brake caliper loosens, it could affect the driver’s ability to handle the vehicle and increase the risk of a crash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Owners of the affected Mazda3 and CX-30 vehicles are advised to bring their cars to a dealership.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

To fix the issue, Mazda said it will conduct an inspection of the front caliper bolts on the affected vehicles. If necessary, the calipers will be tightened or replaced if the bolts are missing. The automaker said all repairs will be done at no cost to customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Owners of the affected Mazda3<\/a> and CX-30 vehicles are advised to bring their cars to a dealership. The recall is scheduled to begin on August 11.
