Don’t be sad if you find the Ford F-150<\/a> Raptor’s price a little too expensive. There’s a smaller truck from the blue oval brand that just might be perfect for you. Ford has reintroduced the Ranger earlier this year, giving consumers more reasons to own a truck. Unfortunately, it is still unclear whether Ford plans to bring the Ranger Raptor to US soil or not. But in case you’re wondering if you can dial up Ford’s small truck Ranger’s level of excitement to the same one the F-150 Raptor gives, then wonder no more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a quick list of all the things you need to replace to make your Ford Ranger look like the F-150 Raptor. The parts you will see below doesn’t necessarily mean they are ready to install on your truck, but they’re listed to give you an idea on how you can transform your Ranger to look like the F-150 Raptor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Before anything else, the height<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

If you want to make your Ranger look like an F-150 Raptor, you must first address the suspension height issue. The Ford F-150 Raptor stands 9.8 inches from the ground due to the Fox Sports Suspension. The suspension comprises of a double wishbone front, with coil springs and leaf springs on the rear. This means that you need to lift your Ranger an additional 1.4 inches (0.9 inches if you have a 4×4 variant.). It also means that you need to swap the OE suspension to the same exact ones as with the F-150 Raptor. And since there’s now the height, don’t forget to install a pair of Raptor side step boards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Work around your bumper<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Your Ranger could never be an F-150 Raptor without the help of a bumper replacement<\/a>. The Ranger features a front bumper that spans from one side to the other. You want the three-sectioned off road bumpers which are standard on the F-150 Raptor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. You need a mean-looking bash plate<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

What makes the F-150 Raptor look aggressive is a visibly huge bash plate. The Ranger doesn’t have this, so you need to get yourself an aftermarket part. Install this bash plate along with your off-road bumper replacement and you’re a little bit closer to achieving that F-150 Raptor look.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Gotta have that Raptor grille with ‘Ford’ on it<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Being Ford’s small truck, the Ranger comes with a little grille with the blue oval brand sitting in the middle. You don’t want this if your transforming it to an F-150 Raptor. What you need is a big octagonal, black grille with the Ford lettering spanning across the whole thing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Fender flares for that extra wide body<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Since the F-150 Raptor is fitted with huge 12.4-inch wide tires, you’ll need black fender flares. It goes well with the wheels, which is really fitting even for a small truck. You might find yourself doing multiple adjustments just to fit one along with your acquired Raptor front bumper, but that should all be worth it. If you’re a stickler for details, the pair of front fender flares comes with a set of small amber indicator lights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. Raptor fender flares won’t mean anything without a set of huge wheels<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Although the Ranger Lariat and F-150 Raptor have the same wheel size, you want to get that Raptor wheel design as well as the right wheel width measurement. Also, the tires; you’ll need the LT315\/70SR17 to complete the towering stance of your Ranger, which is now almost like a small F-150 Raptor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

7. Tailgate needs that ‘Ford’ lettering, too<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

You don’t just want to transform the front but the rear as well. What you need is a more intricately-designed tailgate<\/a> with a black trim showcasing Ford’s brand name on it because that’s how the 2019 F-150 Raptor rolls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

8. Dual exhaust kit to wrap it all up<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The last thing to do is to install a dual exhaust kit underneath your Ranger. This might require major adjustments under your car, but if you really want that Raptor look, you have to have the heart and dedication. A dual exhaust kit should cost you around $200 to $1,000, or even higher. The price depends on the make, type, and material.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Get these parts and watch your Ranger slowly transform into the Raptor right before your eyes. Things like the headlight, tail lamps, and dimensions are things you can’t easily replace, but leaving them as is should be alright. Good luck on your modification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
