All eyes may be on the upcoming 2021 Ford Bronco at the moment, but Jeep<\/a> is not letting its competitor hog the spotlight for long as the automaker gears up for an updated Wrangler for the next model year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to a report published by Mopar Insiders, sources privy to the latest happenings at the Jeep headquarters said the automaker is working on a set of upgrades for the prized model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The upcoming updates are said to make the Wrangler more competitive, especially with the arrival of the new Ford Bronco.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the new features that will reportedly be added to the 2021 Jeep Wrangler are a new powertrain and new technology. The Sport model is said to be getting the Selec-Trac transfer case that gives it the ability to shift from two- to four-wheel drive depending on road conditions, while the Rubicon models will get an improved Rock-Trac setup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In terms of interior features, the new Wrangler’s 7-inch Uconnect infotainment screen will include tire-fill alerts that honk the horn when tires are given enough air pressure. This feature is targeted at off-road enthusiasts who might find the need to add pressure on their tires after a day of rough-road driving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rubicon models will also be given the Off-Road Plus mode that allows higher speeds while the rear locker remains engaged. The same feature is also found on the Gladiator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Wrangler Sport S, the report further claims, will get the Technology Group package as standard equipment instead of just optional. On top of the 7-inch infotainment screen, it will include a SiriusXM satellite radio, smartphone mirroring, a color display in the gauge cluster, as well as automatic climate control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, the forward-facing camera of the Gladiator Rubicon will also be added to the Wrangler Sahara and Rubicon variants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If these upgrades turn out to be true, it would be interesting to watch the competition between the 2021 Jeep Wrangler and Ford Bronco. But until the new Bronco arrives<\/a> and Jeep confirms the updates, everything remains as mere speculation.
