The 2020 CT6 will see some changes in its powertrain starting next year, Cadillac recently confirmed.<\/p>\n

The luxury sedan is set to lose some trims and engines following the changes, but is expected to gain standard equipment.<\/p>\n

For the coming model year, the brand is narrowing down the CT6’s seven trim levels down to three — Luxury, Premium Luxury, and Platinum — with all levels having standard features.<\/p>\n

The Luxury trim will see the addition of the Driver Awareness and Convenience Package while the Premium Luxury trim will get the Super Cruise, the Rear Seat Package, and the 34-speaker Bose Panaray Sound System. The Platinum, meanwhile, will ride on 20-inch wheels. The V-Series, which is considered a different model from the brand, will get the Driver Assist Package.<\/p>\n

As previously reported, Cadillac will be lowering the number of available engine options for the model. The company already dropped the 2.0-liter turbo engine, to be followed by the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine.<\/p>\n

For 2030, the CT6 will only be offered with the 3.6-liter V6 for the Luxury and Premium Luxury trims, and the 4.2-liter twin-turbocharged Blackwing V8. All three trims will come standard with all-wheel drive.<\/p>\n

Aside from changes with the powertrains, Cadillac also announced pricing for the new CT6. The Luxury trim is priced at $59,990 with destination charges, while the Premium Luxury model will start at $75,490. The Platinum falls at $97,490, and the V-Series will start at $95,890.<\/p>\n

Compared with the previous generation, the prices went up due the 2.0-liter model being removed and the inclusion of more standard equipment. The current price of the cheapest 2019 CT6 in the market is at $63,590, while the high-end CT6 Platinum equipped with the twin-turbocharged engine starts at $87,790.<\/p>\n
