Toyota<\/a> is giving its prized mid-size Camry sedan design and tech updates for the coming model year, including a new front-end styling, a revamped infotainment display, and a few changes in the trim levels and standard equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First on the list of changes is the discontinuation of the Camry’s entry-level L model, which means the cheapest trim will be out of the lineup. This is expected to bring the base price of the sedan higher, although only by a few hundred dollars. For perspective, the current and final generation of the L trim is cheaper by $545 than the LE that’s next to it in line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the exit of the L trim, Toyota is introducing a new XSE variant in the lineup, which will be available in hybrid format. Moreover, the sporty Camry TRD is getting new standard equipment such as blind-spot monitoring and heated mirrors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also coming in 2021 are revised a front grille and fascia, as well as new wheel designs and color options. The XLE trim is getting a more stylish leather upholstery, while the Camry’s central touchscreen display is given a fresh appearance. It now has a tablet-style arrangement that makes it somewhat protruding out of the dashboard. It features a 7.0-inch screen as standard equipment, while a 9.0-inch screen is optional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the following model year, Toyota is also giving all variants of the Camry an enhanced Safety Sense 2.5 package. The driver-assistance suite includes an upgraded pedestrian-detection and adaptive cruise control technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The automaker is set to begin production for the 2021 Camry<\/a> in October, which means the first batch to roll out of the assembly could arrive at dealerships later in the fall. Toyota says it will reveal the sedan’s pricing at a later date.
