There’s a $400 price bump on the new Subaru Forester<\/a> for 2021, but the automaker is making it worth every dollar with more active safety equipment for the model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Subaru recently released the official pricing schedule for all variants of the SUV, along with new information on the vehicle’s additional features.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the coming year, all trim levels of the Forester will be equipped with “Steering Responsive” LED headlights that also come with high-beam assist. The new feature allows the headlights to follow the road while the driver steers the vehicle. It’s a pretty fancy technology that interested buyers can enjoy regardless of the variant they are purchasing. Subaru also said the system will be offered on the 2021 Outback and Legacy models.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aside from the new headlight tech, the automaker is also adding a rear seatbelt reminder on all Forester variants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With these additions, customers will have to pay for a slightly more expensive price tag for the 2021 Forester. The entry-level trim now has a starting price of $25,845, followed by the Forester Premium variant at $28,845 and the Forester Sport at $30,445. The prices are inclusive of the $1,050 destination charge for all vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the higher trim levels, however, the price increase is only $300, putting the Forester Limited at $32,445 and the Forester Touring at $35,945.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other than what was mentioned, there will be no other major changes on the SUV. Subaru<\/a> will continue to offer the model with a 2.5-liter flat-four engine that makes 182 horsepower and 176 lb-ft of torque. It has a standard all-wheel-drive layout and a continuously variable transmission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2021 Subaru Forester is expected to arrive at U.S. dealerships this October.
