Hyundai<\/a> recently received a barrage of customer complaints stating an unusual reason. Apparently, the company’s Palisade SUV gives off a certain stench upon reaching a few thousand miles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Korean automaker has reportedly been investigating the problem at its headquarters for months, trying to pinpoint the cause of what Palisade owners describe as a “pungent mix of old produce and used socks.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An article published by The Drive claims Hyundai still has not determined what is causing the foul odor in the vehicle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We are aware of the concern and are currently in the midst of the investigation, which includes identifying and validating a fix,” a statement shared by Hyundai to the publication said. “Once a repair method is confirmed effective, a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) will be released to provide direction to our dealer body on how to resolve the concern.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While the automaker has yet to identify the source of the smell, several Palisade<\/a> owners believe that it could be the Nappa leather material used on its seats. According to these customers, cloth-made seats are generally odor-free. Some, on the other hand, are blaming the headrests, while initial reports claimed the smell resonated from the seatback of the vehicle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Until Hyundai finds a solution to the problem, there’s nothing owners can do but lower their windows while driving.
