The Mazda 6<\/a> is back for the 2021 model year with a bunch of updates similar to a few of its corporate siblings. These include a turbocharged engine, connectivity features, and some styling changes to the Carbon Edition package.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sedan retains the naturally aspirated 2.5-liter engine as its base engine, but it will now be joined by an optional turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-four engine that provides an additional 10 lb-ft of torque to make a total of 320.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both engines will be paired to a six-speed automatic transmission although the automaker has kept mum about the all-wheel-drive and diesel engine that were previously announced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unlike other updated Mazda models, the Mazda 6 isn’t getting an upgrade on its infotainment system. Instead, it will have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard equipment. For the higher trim levels such as the Grand Touring and Signature, customers can enjoy Apple CarPlay through wireless connectivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Carbon Edition package introduced a while ago will be offered in a special color combination of polymetal gray for the exterior and red for the interior. It will also feature a black trim and will be available with the newly added turbo engine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new package will sit right below the range-topping Signature trim with a retail price of $33,745.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, prices for other trim levels increase slightly for the coming model year. The entry-level Sport trim gets a retail price of $25,720, followed by the turbo models starting with the Grand Touring at $30,970.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mazda<\/a> said the 2021 Mazda 6 sedan is expected to arrive at dealership lots later this month.
