This seemed to be Mazda’s mission as it continues its efforts to come up with models worthy of competition among premium European brands. A few examples are the new Mazda 3 and CX-30 models, which feature classy cabins that are unheard of for non-premium models.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As it turns out, the two models are just the tip of the iceberg. Mazda<\/a> is said to be working on an entire lineup of cars that could rival high-end vehicles—and it doesn’t stop at the interiors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to a report by Best Car Web, one model that is currently under development is the all-new Mazda6 scheduled to arrive in March 2022. Not much is known about the sedan except that it will switch to a rear-wheel-drive configuration and be powered by an inline-six engine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine includes Mazda’s SkyActive-X technology with Spark Controlled Compression Ignition, as well as a supercharger and a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. It can deliver nearly 300 horsepower with a consumption of just around 35 mpg. If these numbers translate to actual figures, it is expected to make heads turn as soon as the sedan is released.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On top of the Mazda 6, the new CX-5 SUV is also reportedly in the works and is planned for a 2023 launch. It will feature the same RWD layout and inline-six engine as the Mazda 6, plus an optional all-wheel-drive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Positioned just below the CX-5 is the next-generation CX-3, which is scheduled to arrive in June 2022. It will also feature the SkyActiv-X technology albeit with a smaller 1.5-liter engine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So far, it’s unclear when all of these models will be available at dealerships in the United States, but by the looks of it, Mazda’s future seems promising.
