The long wait is over as Ford has finally introduced the Ranger<\/a> Tremor Off-Road Package for the 2021 model year. It is the most off-road capable mid-size truck built, the Blue Oval says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the key features of the new model are the lifted suspension, redesigned front knuckles, 32-inch Continental all-terrain tires, and 17-inch Magnetic-painted wheels. With all of these combined, the Ranger Tremor gets a total of 9.7 inches of ground clearance or 0.8 inches more than the entry-level Ranger SuperCrew 4×4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Customers after off-road specs are treated to Fox 2.0 monotube dampers, tuned shock absorbers that can provide vehicle control on the dirt, as well as re-tuned front and rear springs for improved stability. The upcoming model will also feature an anti-roll bar with reduced stiffness and a multi-leaf rear spring setup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In comparison to the base models in the Ranger lineup, the new off-road-configured Tremor has an increased suspension travel at 6.5 inches, while the rear also goes up to 8.0 inches. The approach, departure, and break-over angles have also been updated to be better than those of the base SuperCrew 4×4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other new updates to the model include a frame-mounted steel front bash plate, underbody skid plates, rear locking differential, Trail Control technology, and a Terrain Management System with four driving modes. Ford engineers also recalibrated its traction control system for better acceleration and traction on rough surfaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In terms of the exterior, the new Ranger Tremor Off-Road gets two recovery hooks at the front and rear, as well as hood steps that add a stylish appeal to the truck. Aside from the design updates, though, Ford says the vehicle still has the same 1,430-pound payload capacity and 7,500-pound maximum towing capacity like the regular version.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2021 Ford Ranger Tremor is equipped with a 2.3-liter EcoBoost turbo-four engine that makes up to 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. The optional Off-Road package is available for $4,290 and is offered on the mid-range XLT and Lariat Trims with the SuperCrew 4×4 configuration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
