2020 has been a year of new releases for Ford<\/a>. Not long after it staged the highly anticipated return of the new Bronco with all of its six trim levels, the automaker also introduced the optional Sasquatch package for off-road enthusiasts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But the Blue Oval is not done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recently, the company shared a photo on Twitter showing a camouflaged Bronco, which, eagle-eyed spectators agree, could be the upcoming Bronco Raptor or Warthog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier this month, Ford filed a trademark for the name “Warthog” that will reportedly be used for passenger cars, pickups, and SUVs. This sparked rumors that the upcoming high-performance Bronco will be given the Warthog nameplate instead of using the Raptor name that is widely used for the F-150 and Ranger pickup trucks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The future Bronco Warthog is believed to be a larger Bronco model that will be built on the same body-on-frame platform as the F-150.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We’re always going to keep it exciting and elevate Bronco to new heights,” a spokesperson for Ford told online publication Car and Driver.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, the company recently put an end to persistent rumors that it will give the regular Bronco a V8 engine in the future. Ford executives said they are sticking with the twin-turbocharged 2.7-liter V6 that delivers up to 310 horsepower.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When it comes to the high-performance variant, however, it’s likely going to be equipped with an EcoBoost engine, although which specific type between the 400-hp 3.0-liter and 450-hp 3.5-liter remains to be seen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For now, customers can only wait until Ford finally reveals which Bronco in the tweeted photos is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The automaker is set to release the first batch of samples of the 2021 Bronco<\/a> sometime next year with a starting price of $29,995 for the entry-level two-door model and $34,695 for the four-door variant.
