A total of 620,246 Ford<\/a> vehicles are being recalled in the United States following the discovery of a problem with their rearview cameras, the automaker recently announced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The wide-scale recall affects vehicles from the 2020 model year with build dates between October and November 2019 as well as May to June 2020. The list includes the Escape, Expedition, and Explorer SUVs, the F-150, Ranger, and Super Duty pickup trucks, the Edge, Mustang, and Transit. A few nameplates from the Lincoln brand are also included, such as the Corsair, MKX, and Nautilus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Ford, the defective rearview cameras could either produce a distorted image or result in a blank screen. However, Ford clarified that there are no reports of accidents and injuries that may have been caused by the issue. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Based on documents published by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the problem is caused by poor electrical connections in the vehicles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To fix the problem, Ford advised owners of the vehicles in question to bring their cars to a dealer so technicians can replace the defective cameras. The procedure will not incur any costs on the part of the customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recall notifications will be sent to dealers and customers beginning November 7.
