Anyone who has gone off-roading knows how grimy it can be for vehicles. It’s part of the package and drivers know this, although they would surely prefer if their off-roaders were easier to clean.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of its goal to make off-roading more convenient for its customers, Ford<\/a> announced an engineering feature coming to the 2021 Bronco that can help with this—the drain plug.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When the automaker announced that the returning vehicle will feature removable roof and doors, one can just imagine the amount of dirt spoiling the SUV’s interiors. But it looks like Ford has foreseen the situation, so it made sure to add drain plugs to the vehicle— and not just one, but 10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ford Authority published the information, saying four of the drain plugs are active, while six others are passive, which will be beneficial for when the owner forgets to remove the active ones before washing the vehicle. The same feature is also available on the Jeep Wrangler; meaning, it’s another similarity the two rivaling models share.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aside from the drain plugs, Ford will also be equipping the Black Diamond and Badlands Bronco trims with marine-grade vinyl-trimmed seats and rubberized flooring, both of which can be washed easily using a hose. Moreover, the automaker is making all switches and dials rubberized to ensure durability and protection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ford has started the pre-production of the returning Bronco<\/a>, with the official production slated to begin sometime in March or April. The highly anticipated SUV currently has more than 165,000 reservations, some of which might have to wait until 2022 to be completed.
