Styling update comes with a price, literally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This appears to be the ongoing trend in the automotive industry in the United States, with several manufacturers announcing price hikes one after the other for their upcoming 2021 models.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The latest to join the list is Honda<\/a> with the arrival of the 2021 Accord, which is now about $500 more expensive than the previous year’s edition. For the coming model year, the sedan gets a light refresh, particularly with the revised grille, more effective LED headlamps, and other standard tech equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The automaker previously announced in July that the 2021 Accord lineup will no longer include a manual transmission. So for variants equipped with a 1.5-liter engine, a continuously variable automatic transmission will be offered, while 2.0-liter models will have a 10-speed automatic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The entry-level Accord is available for a starting price of $25,725, while its hybrid version retails for $27,325. The range-topper Accord Touring, on the other hand, is priced at $37,655, while the Accord Touring hybrid starts at $37,195.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In between the base Accord and Touring variant are four other trim levels for the regular Accord and two more for the hybrid. These include the Sport 2.0T, which is equipped with the turbocharged 2.0-liter engine and 10-speed automatic, and the mid-range models LX, Sport, Sport SE, and EX-L—all of which are powered by the turbo 1.5-liter and the CVT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Sport SE model is new for 2021 and serves as the replacement for the EX 1.5T. It features leather seats, a 12-way power driver’s seat, and a remote-entry system. Meanwhile, the hybrid models, according to Honda, are updated to give customers a more “direct and immediate throttle response” as well as a more natural acceleration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other standard features on the 2021 Accord<\/a> are an 8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability, a rear-seat-occupant reminder that tells drivers to check the back seat, and a rear-seatbelt reminder that alerts if a rear passenger is not buckled up.
