However, some vehicles have disc brakes on all four wheels, but front drum brakes disappeared in the late 1960s. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carparts.com\/brake-caliper\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"caliper\">caliper<\/a>, which looks like a clamp, has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.carparts.com\/brake-disc-and-pad-kit\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"brake pads\">brake pads<\/a> that pinch the disc to stop the vehicle.
