Toyota<\/a> is finally welcoming next month the completely overhauled Sienna minivan to its lineup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the 2021 model year, the family hauler comes with both front-wheel and all-wheel-drive configurations as well as a new hybrid powertrain. The decision, according to Toyota, is in response to buyers’ demand for a vehicle that yields better fuel economy and higher torque.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because of the upgrades, the minivan will also have a slight price bump compared to its 2020 starting price. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new Sienna will be equipped with a 2.5-liter inline-four engine that pairs with two electric motors for a combined 245 horsepower. Compared to the outgoing model, it has better EPA-rated fuel economy at 36 mpg versus the former’s 21 mpg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It also gets a front-wheel-drive as standard configuration, while the all-wheel-drive will be available as an option, along with an additional electric motor at the rear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The all-new Toyota Sienna will be sold for a starting price of $35,635, which $2,520 more than last year’s base price of the entry-level and now discontinued L model. This makes the FWD LE variant that features a stowable middle seat the base model for the 2021 lineup. For an AWD version, customers will have to fork up $37,635.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The LE model is followed by the XLE trim that can be availed with either a seven or eight-seat configuration and a stowable middle seat. It retails for $40,925 with a front-wheel-drive, while the AWD version costs $42,925.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Slotted next to the XLE is the XSE model equipped with 20-inch wheels as well as unique bumpers in the front and back. A front-wheel-drive version starts at $43,175, while the all-wheel-drive type is at $43,935. The Loaded Limited trim follows at $47,875, while the Platinum model completes the range at $51,075. The two highest trim levels also get all-wheel-drive versions for an additional $1,800 for the Limited and $560 for the Platinum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
