General Motors is recalling a total of 194,105 cars and SUVs in the United States with build dates between 2018 and 2020 due to a potential transmission oil leak. It spans across several brands under the GM umbrella, including Chevrolet, Buick, and Cadillac.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the recall was prompted by missing bolts on several vehicles. This could cause the oil to leak into the transmission, cause a loss of power, and increase the risks of a crash or fire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of the total number of vehicles being recalled, 122,980 units are Chevrolet Cruze sedans. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

The models affected by the recall include the 2018 Chevrolet Malibu; 2018-19 Chevrolet Cruze and Buick LaCross; 2018-20 Chevrolet Equinox, Traverse, and GMC Terrain; 2019-20 Chevrolet Blazer, GMC Acadia, Buick Encore and Enclave, and Cadillac XT4; and 2020 Cadillac XT6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of the total number of vehicles being recalled, 122,980 units are Chevrolet Cruze<\/a> sedans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The automaker says the dealers have been instructed to inspect the start\/stop transmission accumulator of the recalled vehicles, where bolts are supposedly missing. These bolts will be replaced at no additional cost to customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GM will begin sending out recall notifications to owners on December 14.
