The team here at CarParts.com<\/a> is excited to announce that we’ve partnered with Career Technology Teacher Greg Ditch and his students at Naperville North High in Illinois to help them restore a 1995 Ford Mustang GT. They’ve been hard at work since the program started in September, getting the Mustang ready to get back on the road and filming their progress along with some tech tips and fun content for the DIY community. We can’t wait to share once it’s all finished! In the meantime, let’s get to know some of the team behind the build.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Naperville<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the program was split into four separate groups: Monday’s Engine and Drivetrain Team, Tuesday’s Interior and Electronics Team, Thursday’s Paint and Body Work Team, and Friday’s Brakes and Suspension Team. The students have been coming in after school on assigned days and taken on distinct responsibilities for the build.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, we’re proud to introduce some of the bright, talented team members who have been working on the car.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tuesday – Interior and Electronics<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Tuesday team is responsible for the Mustang’s interior, electronics, and stereo. They’re in charge of installing new seats, carpets, and upholstery, along with the digital dash, underglow, K40 radar system, and stereo system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cody Kufrin<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
\"Cody<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Cody is Tuesday’s team lead, and a sophomore enrolled in Greg’s engineering class. When he goes to college, he wants to major in Engineering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nusaybah Mallick<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
\"Nusaybah<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Nusaybah is a senior who enrolled in the afterschool program to work on her Subaru Outback.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Will Fiedler<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
\"Will<\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Will is in the 10th grade and wants to become a technician one day. He loves working with the other students and will be sharing his knowledge for the team’s “tech talk” segments. In his spare time, Will plays a lot of Forza.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Charlie Bauer<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
\"Charlie<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Freshman Charlie Bauer has been doing most of the prep work on the car interior. He never misses a day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gavin Stencel<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
\"Gavin<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gavin is a 9th grader who’s enrolled in Auto I. His goal is to become a technician after high school. Gavin is very quiet, but has a very strong work ethic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thursday – Paint and Body Work<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Thursday’s team is responsible for the Mustang’s paint job and body work. Though the school isn’t equipped with facilities to paint a car, the students have decided to try it in-house. Their plan is to make a portable paint booth and shoot the car satin black.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tyler Stanton<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
\"Tyler<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tyler is in the 11th grade and acts as team lead on Thursdays. Though he has zero auto body experience, he’s figured it out very quickly. Tyler loves cars and his passion has been growing steadily throughout the program. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Teodor Nase<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
\"Teodor<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Teodor is a junior enrolled in Auto I. He joined the program late, but he works hard and has been a great asset getting the body sanded down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Friday – Brakes and Suspension<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Friday team is responsible for the Mustang’s brake and suspension systems. This group has a ton of energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nik Gameti<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
\"Nik<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nik is a freshman enrolled in Greg’s engineering class, and will take Auto I in the 10th grade.  He’ll be co-hosting the team’s segment called “Vocabulary with Nik and Nick.” He has high energy and would show up every day of the week, if allowed. Nik is also on the Husky Robotics Team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nick Oblazny<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
\"Nick<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nick is also a freshman enrolled in Engineering and Robotics. His preferred mode of transportation is his longboard.  He will be “the other Nick” co-hosting “Vocabulary with Nik and Nick.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grace Carsello<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
\"Grace<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Grace is a 10th grader enrolled in Engineering. She joined the program because she is interested in engineering and wanted to get some hands-on experience. Grace has participated in an engine teardown and body prep work on the project car.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Luke Mulligan<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
\"Luke<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Luke is a junior enrolled in Greg’s engineering class. He is full of questions and loves to learn.  Luke also plays hockey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Harrison Muller<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
\"Harrison<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Harrison is a junior who came to the program to work with Luke on a number of projects. He and Luke do a great job, but aren’t nearly as hyper as the underclassmen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
