The tires of a vehicle undergo a manufacturing process called curing, which involves applying heat and pressure to give the tires their final shape. Much like the others, this process could sometimes bear inconsistencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is exactly the reason behind the recent recall announced by General Motors involving several models across the Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, and GMC lineups. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 2020 models of the Buick Enclave, Cadillac XT5, Chevrolet Traverse, and GMC Acadia, as well as 2020 to 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 trucks are being brought back to dealerships due to overcured tires.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GM said dealers have been instructed to replace the defective tires at no cost to customers. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Overcured tires could suffer from a sidewall break, which could lead to a sudden loss of air pressure, resulting in the driver losing control of the vehicle. This increases the risks of a crash or injury.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fortunately for GM, there haven’t been any reports of accidents related to the problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Around 7,500 vehicles are possibly equipped with the overcured tires and will have to be brought back to dealerships for a free inspection.
