Although new vehicles in the United States have been inconsistent in terms of sales for most of the year, the Heavy Duty pickup segment remains robust. Several automakers have launched all-new and redesigned pickups the coming 2021 model year and Ram<\/a> is not one to be left out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The manufacturer recently announced its updated Heavy Duty lineup for the next model year. First introduced in 2019 and composed of the 2500 and 3500 truck range, the models are now made more capable with upgrades highly requested by customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2021 Heavy Duty boasts of up to 1,075 lb-ft of torque, translating to 37,100 pounds of towing capacity (2,000 pounds more than the previous edition of the truck). The improvement is made possible by the 6.7-liter inline-six turbo-diesel engine that also comes with higher boost limits and a higher flow rate in the vehicle’s fuel delivery system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other accessory upgrades such as the truck’s frame rails and rear-axle cross member also contribute in increasing towing capacity. Moreover, the optional fifth-wheel and gooseneck hardware are fully integrated onto the floor of the cargo bed. Without a gooseneck hitch, the tow rating is reduced to 23,000 pounds, which is still impressive for the level of competition in the truck segment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ram also just recently unveiled the 75th anniversary Power Wagon edition that will be arriving in 2021. The styling package includes a black mesh grille, gloss black headlight surrounds, a Gunmetal RAM badge, and 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels wrapped in 33-inch tires.
