If there’s an automaker that’s openly vocal about its electrification plans, it’s General Motors. For a couple of years now, GM has consistently shared its progress in the electrification of some of its models as well as the arrival of new products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For those who don’t know, GM plans to have at least 30 electric vehicles in its lineup by the year 2025. This includes the revived GMC Hummer EV, the Cadillac Lyriq, and a Chevrolet electric pickup that will reportedly be introduced this month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to a report published by Bloomberg Green, GM is scheduled to make a virtual presentation at the digital Consumer Electronics Show on January 12. CEO Mary Barra will further discuss the company’s electrification strategy as well as the importance of electric vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following Barra’s presentation, GM is also set to reveal a few of its concept vehicles, including an electrified version of a Chevrolet pickup. As to which model it is going to be, the automaker has its lips sealed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, reports say that the Chevy pickup concept could be a new plug-in hybrid model instead of a fully electric vehicle. And although GM declined to comment on the model, the company confirmed that it will use GM’s Ultium battery system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The electric pickup from Chevrolet is planned for production by 2025 and is believed to be a Silverado model.
