It looks like we now know how the next-generation CR-V is going to look like. Unfortunately for interested consumers, there seems to be nothing major in the upgrade department for the 2020 model.<\/p>\n

The fifth-generation CR-V currently being sold in the market needs a long overdue update, but it appears Honda does not share the same opinion. The company confirmed that the three-year-old model will not be getting a replacement anytime soon. Rather, Honda decided on a facelift in an attempt to keep sales strong amid growing competition in the segment.<\/p>\n

While the brand has not released any information, a vehicle believed to be the prototype of the 2020 CR-V was spotted and artists at Kolesa proceeded to depict projected images of the model.<\/p>\n

If Honda does keep the overall look of the prototype, consumers can expect a more modern grille on the new CR-V’s front fascia, which also comes with a more prominent chrome-plated central element. The lower part of the grille, meanwhile, has a hexagonal honeycomb trim that will replace the current model’s horizontal design. New inlets were also added to the front fascia to give the model a sharper appeal, while the headlights were left untouched.<\/p>\n

At the back of the vehicle, trapezoidal exhaust outlets were added, while the taillights were given a tinted finish. The interiors, however, remain a mystery.<\/p>\n

Since the updates on the 2020 Honda CR-V are expected to only be on the exterior, it’s likely that the engine options will remain unchanged. The base CR-V carries a 2.4-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine which makes 184 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque. It is also offered with a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that produces 190 horsepower and 179 lb-ft of torque. Both options are available with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive with prices starting at $24,350.<\/p>\n
