Nissan<\/a> is skipping the trend on body-on-frame SUVs and is instead going for a more modern design for the 2022 Pathfinder. Upgrades abound on both the interior and exterior of the latest version of the family-hauler, making it stylish and more competitive in the growing three-row SUV segment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The recently unveiled all-new Pathfinder is following the footsteps of its predecessor, say, in terms of prioritizing cup holders over suspension travel. This new edition, however, looks more rugged and contemporary, save for the addition of the three-slat grille reminiscent of the first-generation model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V-6 engine returns 284 horsepower and 259 lb-ft of torque. But for the 2022 model, Nissan is dropping the continuously variable transmission in favor of the nine-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard on the new Pathfinder, while an all-wheel-drive is available as an option across the range. For AWD models, customers get a selection of driving modes for various terrains such as snow, sand, and mud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Nissan, the model has a towing capacity of up to 6,000 pounds, which is considerably more than any of its current market rivals. It is also increasing the third-row seatbelts to three instead of two, as well as the total capacity from six to eight. Buyers have the option to get captain’s chairs on the second-row, reducing the seating capacity to seven. At the rear, two USB ports are fitted as standard equipment, while a 120-volt power outlet and extra USB port can be added on the second and third-row, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other features include an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for the lower trims and a 9.0-inch screen with wireless Apple CarPlay capability for the higher trims. For the range-topping Platinum variant, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, a head-up display, and leather trim are available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The entry-level Pathfinder is equipped with driver-assistance features, while the mid-level SV is offered with the ProPilot Assist system. It can be combined with the adaptive cruise control and lane-keep assist technologies on the highway. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the other hand, the SL trim comes with an upgraded version of the ProPilot that can be linked to the navigation system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
