The upcoming generation of the Chevrolet Blazer will be sporting a new engine for the 2020 model year – a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four engine.<\/p>\n

The 2020 Chevy Blazer is only the model’s second generation, but it sure packs a punch under the hood with the new engine estimated to make 230 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. Fans of the previous engines, however, need not worry as the Blazer will continue to offer the 2.5-liter naturally aspirated inline-four that makes 193 horsepower as well as the 3.6-liter V-6 with 308 horsepower next year.<\/p>\n

Like the two other engines, the new turbo-four will be mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission with stop-start capability. But while the two older engines are only offered in front-wheel drive, the new 2.0-liter inline-four will be offered in both front- and all-wheel drives. It will also be a standard on the 2LT and 3LT trim levels, while the Blazer L and LT will only have the 2.5-liter engine, and the 3.6-liter V-6 for the Blazer RS and Premier models.<\/p>\n

As it is still under development, the brand has not yet released pricing and fuel economy ratings for the new engine.<\/p>\n

The 2020 Chevy Blazer is expected to fall within the $35,000 range considering that the current front-wheel driver Blazer 2LT with a V-6 engine starts at $34,495.<\/p>\n

Fuel economy, meanwhile, is estimated between 22 and 24 mpg combined, which are the mileage ratings for the 3.6L and 2.5L Blazer, respectively.<\/p>\n

The new Blazer models will start arriving in dealerships in October, with pricing lists expected to be available within the next couple of months.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
