Ford is giving the Explorer a King Ranch edition for the 2021 model year. It will sit under the Platinum 4WD trim, making it the second most expensive variant in the Explorer lineup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some of the features customers can look forward to in the model are a gray grille insert, four chrome exhaust tips, a King Ranch emblem, and a set of 20-inch wheels with the trim’s “Running W” logo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It will be available in both rear- and four-wheel-drive variants, both of which will be powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6 that makes up to 365 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque. This marks the first time a rear-wheel-drive will be paired with a 3.0-liter EcoBoost mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for its interior, Ford is using mahogany leather and including a sapele wood-trimmed dashboard. Its steering wheel will be wrapped in premium leather that comes with a wood insert and a King Ranch logo. The model will also have Ford’s premium technology package that includes massaging front seats, an optional 10.1-inch touchscreen in a vertical orientation, and a Bang & Olufsen sound system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
