Subaru just announced that it has started production of the highly anticipated 2020 Outback and Legacy models at the company’s 832-acre plant in Indiana, the company’s sole manufacturing facility outside Asia.<\/p>\n

The two models are comparable but serve different purposes for the brand. The Legacy is a family sedan, while the Outback has more cargo space and ride height and is targeted on the more rugged consumers.<\/p>\n

But aside from its features and styling, another reason both models are sought after by consumers is the affordable pricing. The Legacy has a starting price of $24,000, while the Outback is offered just slightly under $28,000. These price ranges are cheaper by thousands than the average new-car transaction price.<\/p>\n

For consumers, however, who don’t mind going as high as almost $40,000 for the models, Subaru is also offering more premium add-ons. These include leather seats and an 11.6-inch vertical infotainment screen that replaces the standard two-screen setup.<\/p>\n

The 2020 Outback and Legacy pack a punch under the hood, too, with their standard 182-horsepower H4, although a 260-horsepower HS is also available.<\/p>\n

Entry-level trims of both models also offer a suite of driver-assist systems, which include adaptive cruise control with lane-centering functions and a heads-up display. Also standard issue are LED lights, a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto compatibility.<\/p>\n
