The Jeep Grand Cherokee<\/a> is due for a major redesign for the first time since 2011. And ahead of the model’s official debut in 2020 and arrival at dealerships in 2021, nothing new is known about the three-row vehicle except the addition of a more standard safety tech and introduction of a new Limited X model for 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That is unless an allegedly leaked document circling social media proves to be true.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A certain Instagram user that goes by the handle @thejeep_guy claims that the new Grand Cherokee will be getting a revamped cabin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the document, the upcoming Grand Cherokee’s cabin will be equipped with more advanced technology. While the 8.4-inch and 7.0-inch infotainment system will continue to be offered, Jeep is also introducing a 10.1-inch screen for the system along with a 10.5-inch instrument digital gauge cluster.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also included as new features are new massaging seats, an overhead console, window switches, new outside door remote handles, and a new key fob. The shift lever will also be replaced with a gear-selector knob.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the hood, new powertrain options include a 2.0-liter turbo unit as well as a 5.7-liter HEMI V8, both featuring an eTorque mild hybrid system. Jeep<\/a> is also reportedly considering a plug-in hybrid variant to join the currently used 3.6-liter V6, which makes 293 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new generation of the Jeep Grand Cherokee will be built at Fiat Chrysler Automobile’s Detroit plant where a new three-row SUV rumored to have the Grand Wagoneer nameplate will also be built.
