Ford is busy preparing to roll out its electric vehicles and rumor has it that the brand’s electric F-150 may arrive at dealerships as early as 2021.<\/p>\n

While the traditional F-150’s sales are not slowing down, the company is looking to further expand to the production of electric vehicles. Among the first to be released is the Mach E, a Mustang-inspired model set for release in 2020 as part of the 2021 model year. It will then be followed by the EV version of the high-selling truck two years from now.<\/p>\n

However, Ford has not released any official statement on the exact date of release of the all-electric F-150. The closest sign of confirmation it’s going to happen in 2021 is from the company’s global director for electrification, Ted Cannis.<\/p>\n

In a recent interview, Cannis said the electric F-150 will follow the Mach E. “As soon as a year later, the electric version of the well-loved truck will be introduced to the public,” he said. A spokesperson from Ford, meanwhile, told in a separate interview that the highly-anticipated model will arrive “in a few years.”<\/p>\n

Conflicting statements from Ford’s camp are fanning the flames of anticipation as consumers eagerly await the arrival of what could be America’s first-ever electric pickup from an automotive giant. And while it’s likely the model won’t be available until a couple of years more, Ford sees a need to educate Americans more about electric vehicles. This comes from a study saying 42% of Americans are under the impression that gasoline is needed to power electric vehicles.<\/p>\n

What’s clear, though, is that it’s still a waiting game as to which automaker will make the first play in the still EV-free truck segment. Aside from Ford, startups Tesla, Rivian, and Bollinger have all hinted at an electric pickup before 2021.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
