A massive recall was announced by Nissan<\/a> in markets including the United States, Canada, South Korea, and Israel due to rear visibility camera display systems that failed to meet compliance standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The recall affects a total of 1.2 million vehicles, including the 2018 and 2019 Nissan Altima, Frontier, Kicks, Leaf, Maxima, Murano, NV, NV200, Pathfinder, Rogue, Rogue Sport, Sentra, Titan, and Versa. Also affected are the models Q50, Q60, QX30, and QX80 from its corporate sibling, Infiniti.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nissan notified the NHTSA and Transport Canada, as well as South Korea and Israel, of the recall to fix what the automaker deems a “technical non-compliance.”<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

According to documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, it was discovered that the faulty rear camera display systems would allow drivers to adjust their display settings “to the degree that the image is no longer visible” but then fail to return to the required default image once the driver shifts the vehicle into reverse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nissan notified the NHTSA and Transport Canada, as well as South Korea and Israel, of the recall to fix what the automaker deems a “technical non-compliance.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company will be updating the rear visibility system of the affected vehicles, a spokesperson for Nissan said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
