In the competitive full-size truck segment, there are winning players and there are losing players.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately for Nissan, it is on the losing end as the Titan continues to struggle in the competition. Not all hope is lost, though, as the Japanese automaker is revamping the truck with better styling and additional technology in hopes of having a chance at a breakthrough for the 2020 model year.<\/p>\n

At the recent Texas State Fair, Nissan revealed the 2020 Titan brandishing a complete redesign that includes a retuned engine and a slew of driver assistance systems.<\/p>\n

For the new model year, the full-size pickup is boosting its Nissan Safety Shield 360 system. Features such as blind-spot monitoring, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, high-beam assist, rear automatic braking, and rear cross-traffic alert are now standard across all trim levels. Optional driver alertness system, traffic sign recognition, rear door alert, and adaptive cruise control will also be available.<\/p>\n

Aside from modern technology, Nissan is also improving the Titan’s interior with the Nissan Connect infotainment suite, as well as a now-standard 8-inch touchscreen and an optional 9-inch display with Wi-Fi connectivity. Still offered, too, are Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, 7-inch customizable driver information display in the gauge cluster,  and a 12-speaker Fender audio system.<\/p>\n

The automaker is also giving the 2020 Titan the 5.6-liter V8 gas engine in place of the 5.0-liter diesel engine previously offered. The gas V8 makes 400 horsepower and 413 lb-ft of torque. A nine speed automatic transmission will be replacing the seven-speed automatic, while the final gear ratio has also been reset for quicker acceleration.<\/p>\n

For the exterior, the new Nissan Titan will get a “Powerful Warrior” design as referred to by the company. Among the most notable features are a new bumper with chrome or black accents, three interlocking grille options, and a red Nissan badge on the Pro-4X. New paint jobs are also offered–Baja Storm, Red Alert, and Cardinal Red Metallic–expanding the color choices to a total of nine.<\/p>\n
