Amid growing pressure from the rise of tougher competitors, Chevrolet is giving the base trim of its trusty Colorado pickup truck a mid-cycle update. For the 2021 model year, the model will be sporting a new look and featuring a number of improvements.<\/p>\n

Chevrolet reportedly asked its designers to give the Colorado and Camaro specific looks for each of the models’ trim levels.<\/p>\n

So far, only the ZR2 model has been spotted with a taller and wider grille split in the middle by a flow-through insert that shows the automaker’s name. The emblem, meanwhile, is placed next to the driver’s side headlight.<\/p>\n

Chevrolet also shared that the WT and LT trims will have new gold-colored Bowtie emblems, while the Z71 will sport the black badge like the ZR2’s. But regardless of trim or cab configuration, all variants will have their tailgates stamped with the name Chevrolet.<\/p>\n

The brand will continue to offer off-roading features to consumers through the ZR2 model, including electronic locking differentials, Multimatic shocks, cast-iron control arms, two-speed transfer case, two-inch suspension kit, wider track, and a skid plate. But for the special 2021 redesign, the company is adding red tow hooks to the package.<\/p>\n

Other specifications remain undisclosed, particularly the modifications on the interior, as well as official pricing. But given the changes, it doesn’t look like the company is scaling down the Colorado’s pricing.<\/p>\n

The 2021 Chevrolet Colorado is currently being assembled in Missouri and is expected to go on sale in early 2020. Official pricing and other details are likely going to be released in the coming weeks. When the new Colorado arrives, it will be up against other newly refreshed models such as the Toyota Tacoma, Jeep Gladiator, Ford Ranger, and the older Nissan Frontier.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
