A recall is always something to be serious about, especially if it involves problems with the wheels–even if it only affects less than 200 cars.<\/span><\/p>\n

Such is the case for Dodge, which recently issued a recall for 173 units of Challengers and Chargers that have been installed at the factory with the wrong  front wheels.<\/span><\/p>\n

The recall was first announced on October 24, stating the problematic wheel setup could cause the front tires to make contact with the steering knuckle, possibly ripping a hole in the rubber and cause it to deflate. This increases the risk of a crash and injury.<\/span><\/p>\n

To fix the problem, all affected Dodge cars will have their front wheels replaced at no cost to consumers. Alignment will also be performed if the repairing dealership deems it necessary. But, so far, Dodge clarified no owners have reported issues with their cars.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to reports, the cars affected by the recall have build dates between May 28 and September 25, 2019. The list of affected vehicles includes a total of 111 Dodge Chargers and 62 Dodge Challengers, all of which have a specific high-gloss black wheel and brake package that “should not have been an available option” from the factory.<\/span><\/p>\n

The issue was discovered by workers at Chrysler’s assembly plant in Brampton, Ontario. They noticed the tire and steering knuckle on some cars were a bit too close for comfort, prompting a recall of the models.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
