As if the Jeep Gladiator<\/a> wasn’t expensive<\/a> enough, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is giving the premium Rubicon trim of its 2020 version a price increase as confirmed by a recently released dealer order guide.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Previously priced at $45,040, the Gladiator Rubicon will have a $330 price hike for the 2020 model year. This puts the range-topping variant at $45,370, inclusive of the $1,495 destination charge.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

FCA, however, clarified that the Rubicon is the only trim that will get a price increase despite the absence of new features or standard equipment. Consumers who are looking to get the Gladiator Rubicon with the optional eight-speed automatic transmission, meanwhile, will have to be prepared to shell out $47,040 –$1,000 more than the starting price of the 2020 Wrangler Rubicon with the same features.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n

The $47,000 price tag makes the Rubicon almost as expensive as the newly updated 2020 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro, which retails at $47,785 with automatic transmission. It also remains pricier than the Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 and the GMC Canyon Detail, both of which are at the $44,000 to $45,000 range.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

While $330 does not sound much for truck enthusiasts, it becomes a little hard to justify considering there is hardly anything to look forward to in the 2020 version. Even worse, lease prices of the Jeep Gladiator are becoming higher and the company excluded the Gladiator Rubicon from the loyalty discount it introduced in October.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, those planning to take advantage of Jeep’s Employee Pricing promo should be aware that, while savings could amount to as much as $7,800 on models including the Grand Cherokee, it excludes the Wrangler and Gladiator as well.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
