Nissan just announced it is set to debut the 2020 Sentra on November 19. The model will be the American version of what the automaker introduced at the Auto Shanghai event in China in April–the Sylphy.<\/p>\n

According to reports, the compact sedan will be unveiled at a standalone event that will take place shortly before the Los Angeles Auto Show. More information on the specs of the new Sentra will be disclosed on the premiere date, although it may also be possible some details are already known to the public.<\/p>\n

Just a few weeks ago, speculations made rounds online claiming the 2020 Nissan Sentra could be losing its manual gearbox after an order guide listing only a continuously variable transmission circulated. In comparison, the outgoing Sentra S is offered with both manual and continuously variable transmissions.<\/p>\n

Nissan, meanwhile, revealed the compact car will be powered by a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter gasoline engine that makes 149 horsepower and 145 lb-ft of torque. This is a boost from the 130-horsepower 1.8-liter engine on the base level of the 2019 Sentra or the CVT-powered 2019 Sentra, which has 124 horsepower and 125 lb-ft of torque.<\/p>\n

It should be noted, though, that a Sentra prototype with a six-speed manual gearbox lever was spotted in August, suggesting that the 2020 version could still be getting manual gears.<\/p>\n

Aside from getting a more powerful engine, the new Nissan Sentra is also believed to have a multi-link suspension in place of the torsion beam rear setup, which will be offered as standard on all trims. Additionally, all variants of the car will get the Nissan Safety Shield 360. The system includes safety features such as blind-spot warning, lane departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic emergency braking, and automatic high beams.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
