Ford will likely announce in the succeeding months whether the first model that will roll out from its partnership with Rivian will indeed be an electric vehicle.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The rumored EV is believed to arrive in 2022 and will feature a new skateboard-style chassis developed by Rivian. It is also likely the said chassis is the same one that will underpin the highly talked about Rivian R1S SUV.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, considering the current Lincoln SUV lineup, it would make more sense for the new EV to compete in the same price range as the Rivian R1S, which is expected to carry a tag price of $72,500. Although it also wouldn’t be surprising if Lincoln decides to go for the luxury soft-roader style as it did with the Navigator and Aviator, while Rivian aims for the utility vehicle for off-road lovers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the end, all aforementioned EVs will likely compete in the same segment that also includes models from Cadillac, possibly a revived Hummer, and, to some extent, the Bollinger B1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
