No less than 31 new or updated vehicles are set to be released by Toyota over the next three years.<\/span><\/p>\n

The news was formally announced by Bob Carter, executive vice president of sales at Toyota Motor North America, during its annual holiday party in Detroit.<\/span><\/p>\n

“You can expect 31 new announcements from us [over the next 36 months],” he said.<\/span><\/p>\n

And for a three-year timeframe, it is going to be a big deal for any automaker in the United States even if some of the models are a refresh of already existing products or the addition of new trim levels.<\/span><\/p>\n

Likely to be included in the 31-vehicle lineup are products Toyota is set to or already working on as of the announcement such as all-wheel-drive formats of the Avalon and Camry sedans, the RAV4 Prime plug-in hybrid SUV, a redesigned Highlander crossover, and the Lexus LC convertible.<\/span><\/p>\n

Also expected to be part of the roster are new or updated versions of the Tacoma and Tundra pickup trucks, although Carter declined to comment on the aging popular models.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the automotive industry, however, three years is a long time and there could very well be a lot of changes that will happen within the Toyota headquarters. To prove the company’s commitment to its goal, Carter said ten new products from the company will either arrive or be announced in 2020, suggesting both Toyota and Lexus could be expanding into segments they are not currently part of.<\/span><\/p>\n

“But what you can expect from us is 10 new products, either refreshed products, derivative products, or products that are currently not in either of the brands’ lineups to be introduced over the next year,” Carter said.<\/span><\/p>\n

The company is actively working to keep the lineups of Toyota and Lexus fresh by investing in new vehicles despite facing difficulties in selling its products that are currently in showrooms. It also registered a 1.4 decline in sales in the U.S. in November this year compared to the same time period in the previous year. With the release of the 31 upcoming models from Toyota, it is hoping to boost its market performance in the next few years.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
