General Motors is set to complete the updates on its big SUV triumvirate as it gears up for the release of the 2021 GMC Yukon this January. This follows the December launches of the 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe and Chevrolet Suburban, and ahead of the scheduled unveiling of Cadillac’s new Escalade in February.<\/p>\n

On January 14, GMC will welcome the 2021 Yukon and Yukon XL into the United States market.<\/p>\n

“We will have a bold, capable and precisely crafted new Yukon to introduce in the new year. 2020 is set to be another great year of GMC,” the company said.<\/p>\n

While the Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban carry a similarity to the Silverado, the new Yukon sports a resemblance to the latest generation of the GMC Sierra. This means the SUV will have prominent C-shaped headlights and a massive grille as well as chrome trimmings inspired by the Denali variant.<\/p>\n

How distinct the Yukon will be from the Tahoe is another thing to watch out for, especially since Chevrolet finally gave the Sierra and Silverado unique designs and interiors after twinning for more than a decade.<\/p>\n

The 2021 Yukon joins the company’s T1 platform, which has been steadily redesigning the brand’s SUVs since the release of the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra.<\/p>\n

The T1 platform is known for an improved K2 body-on-frame design, which is found in GM’s outgoing full-size vehicles. But instead of steel materials, this platform uses aluminum to drop more weight. It is also known for air suspension with magnetic dampers and an independent rear that boosts comfort for passengers.<\/p>\n

After GMC launches the new Yukon, Cadillac will introduce the next Escalade in February. The upcoming Escalade is reportedly getting a 38-inch OLED curbed screen and is inspired by the Escala concept.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
