The Kia Stinger is being updated for the 2021 model year and rumor has it that the changes will be notable but not too radical.<\/p>\n

The Korean automaker’s performance sedan made its debut as a 2018 model, but given the rapid turnaround in the automotive market as of late, the model is already up for a facelift ahead of its second anniversary.<\/p>\n

The Stinger, however, is not exactly pegged as a high-volume model for Kia but more of an image model meant to showcase the automaker’s performance and handling capabilities. This begs the question of how far Kia is willing to go for the model’s update.<\/p>\n

The Korean Car Blog spoke with Kia Motors Europe Chief Operating Officer Emilio Herrera about the model and the executive talked about what consumers can expect from the company.<\/p>\n

“Kia Stinger, just like all of our models, will go through some product enhancement in due course. However, those will not be radical changes, because the design of the Stinger has been successful,” Herrera said. “The Stinger is a great car. More than anything else, the Stinger has been a brand promoter.”<\/p>\n

But what could those updates be? The Korean Car Blog was not shy in saying that it could be a new and larger infogainment system or a headlight adjustment feature for the V6 model as well as a new driver’s bolster control system with the switch to Sport Mode as found on the Genesis G70.<\/p>\n

Both base 2.0 Turbo and V6 models of the Stinger could also get Kia’s Drive Wise intelligent safety system that assists drivers with autonomous driving and other assistive technologies. All of these, however, are yet to be confirmed by the company by the time it reveals the 2021 Stinger next July.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
