Fiat Chrysler Automobiles previously announced its plans for electrification in the future, including the release of electrified versions of all Jeep models by 2022.<\/p>\n

Ahead of the official release of any of these models, Jeep is set to preview its first electrified model in this year’s Consumer Electronics Show. The vehicles expected to be showcased are plug-in hybrid versions of the Wrangler, Compass, and Renegade.<\/p>\n

According to the company, the upcoming EVs will “modernize the Jeep brand” as it “strives to become the leader in ‘green’ eco-friendly premium technology.”<\/p>\n

Jeep is keeping all other technical details under wraps, but it has earlier confirmed that the electric vehicles will carry the “Jeep 4xe” badge. Fuel economy ratings are also not yet available, but Jeep promises all vehicles with the 4xe badge will be the “most efficient and responsible Jeep vehicles ever.” The company also said the new batch of EVs will “take performance, 4×4 capability, and driver confidence to the next level.”<\/p>\n

Moreover, Jeep revealed that the models they are aiming to launch are fun to drive on the road and have off-road capability as they have improved torque and engine response.<\/p>\n

After the Jeep EVs are introduced at the CES, Jeep is expected to release more information on the Jeep Wrangler, Compass, and Renegade 4xe models. All three vehicles are scheduled to be revealed at this year’s Geneva, New York, and Beijing auto shows.<\/p>\n

At the previous Geneva Motor Show, the automaker confirmed the plug-in hybrid Renegade and Compass will be equipped with a 1.3-liter inline-four gasoline engine and an electric motor for a combined 240 horsepower and estimated electric range of 31 miles.
