A total of 696,000 vehicles from the Toyota<\/a> and Lexus<\/a> lineups are being recalled due to defective fuel pumps that could stop working and cause the vehicle to stall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The recall affects cars, crossovers, and SUVs from 2018 to 2019, including the Toyota Corolla and Land Cruiser, as well as several Lexus models.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Toyota, the recall was prompted by a fuel pump that could stop operating and cause the vehicle to stop, potentially causing a crash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the event that the fuel pump stops working, the automaker said in a statement, the engine would run rough and warning signs will begin to illuminate. This could then cause the car to stall, with a possibility for the engine to not restart afterward. If the stalling happens while the vehicle is running at a high speed, it could result in a crash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the long list of Toyota vehicles are certain 2018 and 2019 model Toyota 4Runner, Camry, Highlander, Land Cruiser, Sequoia, Sienna, Tacoma, and Tundra, as well as certain 2019 model year Toyota Avalon and Corolla vehicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, the Lexus models include certain 2018 and 2019 Lexus LS500, LC500, RC350, RC300, GS350, IS300, ES350, LX570, GX460, and RX350, as well as certain Lexus NX300, RX550L, and GS300 from the 2019 model year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
