Back in 2018, Kia revealed a refreshed version of the Sedona<\/a> minivan at the New York Auto Show. The vehicles featured a more spacious cabin, updated styling, and new technology. Despite these changes, however, sales were significantly short compared to its competitors in the Chrysler Pacifica, Dodge Grand Caravan, and Honda Odyssey.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Kia Sedona sold 15,931 units in the United States, a stark contrast to the Dodge Grand Caravan<\/a>‘s 122,648 sales despite being the older model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But for the 2021 model year, the Korean automaker is looking to turn things around with an all-new Kia Sedona.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to a recent report, the new Sedona, known as the Kia Carnival in the South Korean market, is set to debut at this year’s New York Auto Show in April. It will then go on sale in South Korea in July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2021 Kia Sedona reportedly measures 202 inches long, 78 inches wide, and 68 inches high. This makes the new version 1.5 inches longer and 0.3 inches wider than its predecessor. It will also have a wheelbase measuring 121.6 inches, longer by 1.18 inches than the outgoing model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Based on spy shots of the new Sedona, the minivan will feature new LED headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights and a new bumper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Engine options for the model have not been confirmed so far. But the current generation is powered by a 3.3-liter V6 that makes 276 horsepower and 248 lb-ft of torque. The engine is paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission and a front-wheel-drive setup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A plug-in hybrid version of the Sedona is also believed to be joining the lineup and will be equipped with the same electrified powertrain as the upcoming Hyundai Santa Fe. The all-new Sedona is also likely to retain the three- and four-row seating layout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
