A constant upgrade on crossovers has become a standard for carmakers in the last few years amid increasing competition in the market. One of the brands doing regular updates on their models is Kia, revealed to be working on a new generation of the Sorento for model year 2021; this, despite a recent upgrade on the three-row model for 2019.<\/p>\n

Carrying the code name MQ4, the new Sorento is expected to brandish a new design and new powertrains, including hybrid and plug-in versions.<\/p>\n

The current model offers a 3.3-liter V6 and 2.4-liter inline-four, making 290 and 185 horsepower, respectively. The new powertrains should enhance the car’s fuel efficiency and also introduce customers to a hybrid and electric future with the Sorento.<\/p>\n

Although not much is known about the model on the design front, it appears that the crossover will have a new front-end design, including the hood, headlights, grille, and lower front fascia. The sides and the rear-design, meanwhile, are suspected to borrow a few design cues from the Kia Telluride. A change on the mirror position is also expected, with the new model placing the mirrors below the window line on the doors instead of the usual A-pillar area.<\/p>\n

And as with all other new generation vehicles, the interior of the 2021 Sorento could also be receiving a huge upgrade, particularly in materials, features, and technologies.<\/p>\n
