General Motors is poised to launch two electric Cadillac SUVs and the GMC Hummer electric pickup truck this year. But the automaker will not be slowing down on its EV revolution as it plans to market no less than three Cadillac models and six more Chevrolet, Buick, or GMC BEVs by 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Online publication Seeking Alpha recently published a report detailing GM’s plans for the coming model years. The upcoming Cadillacs are reportedly getting real names instead of alphanumerics, according to investment analyst Anton Wahlman, who wrote the piece.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wahlman cites the presentation slides from the company’s Capital Markets Day, which was presented by GM president Mark Reuss, combined with a November 2017 presentation in front of investment advisors, as his basis for the article.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the 2017 presentation, GM announced it would introduce 20 purely electric vehicles by 2023, two of which are already in the market—the Ariv Meld compact folding eBike and the Ariv Merge eBike, both of which went on sale in Europe early last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the eBikes, the two Cadillacs, and the GMC Hummer crossed off the list, GM is left with 15 more models to release in the next three years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The six non-Cadillacs that Wahlman outlined in the article are likely going to be models shared between Chevrolet and Buick-GMC. They are reportedly having unique interior designs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wahlman also stated the two BEVs and the GMC Hummer pickup will go on sale between the second half of 2021 and 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Completing the list of new GM vehicles are a ride-sharing driverless minivan, a regular minivan similar to the Volkswagen ID Buzz, a Cadillac compact sedan or hatchback, a replacement to the Chevrolet Bolt compact hatchback, a small Chevrolet or Buick crossover, a compact CUV that’s about as big as the Chevy Equinox, a compact luxury SUV, a large three-row SUV to either replace or complement the Traverse and\/or GMC Acadia, and a luxury three-row SUV to replace or complement the XT6 and\/or Escalade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The analyst further shared candidates for the names of future GM vehicles, owing to Reuss’s earlier announcement that the company will revert to the use of actual names in its models. Some of these names include Eldorado, DeVille, Brougham, Fleetwood, Seville, as well as recent concept car names Ciel, Elmiraj, and Escala.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
