Toyota is giving all trim levels of the new Camry all-wheel-drive drivetrains for the 2020 model year. This includes the LE, SE, XLE, XSE, and Nightshade models.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The all-wheel-drive setup will make way for the addition of a 2.5-liter inline-four engine paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Toyota previously launched this setup on the RAV4 crossover and will also be offered for the upcoming 2021 Avalon later this year. With the Avalon, however, only the XLE and Limited models will get the AWD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the new all-wheel-drive system, up to 50% of the Camry’s power will be sent to the rear wheels. When the AWD system is not needed, power can be efficiently cut off from the rear wheels and allow the vehicle to run on front-wheel-drive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Toyota, this should help with the car’s fuel economy. However, it also translates to additional costs to customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the new generation of the model, interested buyers must pay an extra $1,400 to the starting price. This puts the base Camry LE at $27,325 compared to the previous year’s price of $25,925 with a front-wheel-drive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Camry SE will now be at $28,525, the XLE at $31,810, the XSE at $32,36, and the Nightshade at $29,225.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2020 Toyota Camry all-wheel-drive is expected to arrive this spring to be followed by an AWD version of the 2021 Avalon in the fall.<\/p>\n<\/body><\/html>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
