The much-awaited Hummer EV pickup has not even officially arrived, but GMC is already whetting the appetite of customers with the revelation that the subbrand will also launch an all-electric SUV in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dubbed the GMC Hummer SUV, the vehicle is set to join the upcoming pickup under the GMC umbrella. It is expected to match the performance of the truck, which the company previously claimed to make 1,000 horsepower and go from zero to 60 mpg in 3.0 seconds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The two models will be sharing GM’s new EV architecture and will be equipped with battery packs that can store as much as 200-kWh of electricity. This is around twice as much power as the largest battery packs of leading EV brand Tesla.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to reports, GM made the setup possible by stacking battery modules in two layers and creating a massive pack, which is estimated to measure roughly 18 inches tall. GM also estimates that the battery is capable of providing a range of up to 400 miles on a single charge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At a preview of 11 future electric GM vehicles, sources claimed to have seen both models, which will be referred to as the SUT and the SUV. Both will reportedly feature removable roof panels over the front and rear passengers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moreover, the two models are said to have the same styling from the rear doors forward, as well as angular fenders that are sticking out from the body, with a chunky C-pillar sloping backward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for the interiors, both vehicles will be equipped with a 15-inch infotainment screen and a 12-inch digital instrument cluster.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
